Rotary Promotes Community Spirit at New Mills Carnival
6 June 2026
Members of the Rotary Club of New Mills, Marple and District proudly participated in the New Mills Carnival on 6 June 2026, using the occasion to promote Rotary and engage with the local community in a fun and welcoming way. The club hosted a lively stall that attracted visitors of all ages throughout the day. A particular highlight was the innovative “Human Fruit Machine,” which proved to be a tremendous success. The interactive game drew a steady stream of families and visitors, creating an excellent opportunity for members to explain the work of Rotary and the positive impact the organisation has within the local community and beyond.
The club’s popular fuel-can sale also generated considerable interest, helping to raise awareness of Rotary activities while supporting the club’s community initiatives. Throughout the day, members enthusiastically shared information about Rotary’s charitable work, local projects, and opportunities for community involvement. What made the event especially memorable was the strong participation from club members. A large number of Rotarians generously volunteered their time, taking turns to staff the stall, engage with visitors, and ensure that the day ran smoothly. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and good humour contributed greatly to the success of the event. Blessed with a wonderful carnival atmosphere, the day was filled with laughter, fellowship, and community spirit. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase Rotary’s values and strengthen the club’s presence within the New Mills community.
